FindtheBest.com lets you compare almost anything you can think of, including of course, beer.
They reached out to me to check out their beer comparison feature and I was pretty impressed. Apparently I'm not the only one, since they were recently featured on TechCrunch and have secured major VC bucks in funding.
Watch the video to see my demo or pop on over there yourself. I guarantee you'll stay and tinker around.
The purpose of the site is to help you make better decisions on purchases, colleges, etc. Personally the beer section falls more into the entertainment category for me. I doubt I'll use it for beer shopping but I could see how people new to craft beer and visiting the site could discover new selections to try. I think just the fact that we have a comparison tool for beer shows how far our beer culture has come – why would you compare yellow fizzy stuff to yellow fizzy stuff?
My main criticism is the smallish size of the beer database. With over 1,600 craft brewers and regional availability what it is, the site is only useful if there are a large number of beers for comparison in your market.
Besides beer, I had fun looking at the ski resort comparison and found myself coming back to the smart phone comparison. Uh-oh, we know what that means…
Let me know if you try it, beer or non-beer. Cheers.
