Presents A New Opportunity For Craft Beer Lovers & Homebrewers...

Virtual Beer Tasting Class Will Teach You How to Critique Beer Like a Pro...

Without Having to Leave Your House!

LIVE - virtual online webinar Workshop

Hosted: BJCP Judge Billy Bross

Date: Saturday Nov. 2, 2019
Time: 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific

Register for our Confident Beer Taster Bootcamp and:

  • Expand your beer vocabulary and learn how to describe what your tasting
  • Discover WHY these beers taste the way they do
  • Get a simple process for sizing up any beer at any time

Not to mention, it's going to be a whole lot of fun!

You'll get to interact with the instructor (a certified beer judge) and the other beer lovers in the chat room.

Share the flavors you're picking up and why you like or don't like the beers.

Warning: NO BEER SNOBS ALLOWED!

We hate beer snobbery.

If you only want to take this class to be a show-off and shame people for what they're drinking, we don't want you.

This is for people who want to learn more about beer because they love it.

We want you to use your new skills to help guide friends to the right beer for them, NOT to puff up your chest and declare yourself master of all beer.

So Who's This Bootcamp For?

For brand new and experienced craft beer lovers & homebrewers alike. Good taste shouldn't be reserved only for the experts!

First of all, this is a MUST if you’re a homebrewer.

I always say, the quality of your homebrew is limited by your ability to accurately diagnose what’s wrong and improve it.

In fact, this should be the first class any homebrewer takes, in my opinion.

This is also a great fit if you simply love craft beer and want to go deeper into it.

Maybe you want to get a job in the beer industry, or even start your own business one day.

This will help you speak the language of beer.

Finally, the bootcamp is perfect if you want to become a BJCP beer judge.

That’s actually how this training came about.

It’s evolution of the training process my buddies and I used before taking (and passing) the BJCP tasting exam.

Your Instructor, Host & Guide

Billy Bross

BJCP Beer Judge and Founder of...

HBA Homebrew Academy education, courses, resources, and gear for the craft beer lover Logo

As your guide on this journey, I'll teach you the best of what I've learned from judging competitions and hanging out with some of the best brewers and beer experts in the country.

How Does The Bootcamp Work?

The bootcamp takes place live and 100% virtual.

It takes place over Zoom, a free video/audio conferencing and webinar software. And it's BYOB (I'll tell you which ones to grab).

I’ll be on camera and also sharing my screen every now and then.

You won’t have to be on camera. But you will join us from the chat from the comfort of your home.

The chat will be buzzing with activity. It’s so cool to see everyone chiming in with what they’re tasting.

...But What If I Can't Make It "Live"?

Although this is best experienced as a live event, due to the ability to ask questions, we understand not everyone can make it on the exact day and time.

Good news! If you can’t make it, you can always watch the recording instead.

Plus, you’ll get lifetime access to that, so no rush to watch it.

You could also join a future bootcamp, but right now we’re not sure when that will be.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2019
3 Hours @
8 PM EDT / 5 PM PDT

LIVE ONLINE VIA WEBINAR

You'll also be able to download some of these valuable resources to assist you during out bootcamp (print off extra and keep them with you).

Beer Tasting Cheat Sheet:

This workbook will give you over 250 words to help you describe the beers you're drinking.

Once you get through the first week, you'll start using these words naturally and start sounding and feeling more like an expert.

You'll have a new vocabulary and understanding of:

  • Appearance
  • Flavor and aroma
  • Mouthfeel
  • Intensity
  • And more

Your Own Beer Evaluation Sheets:

This will be a resource that you'll want to use with almost any beer that you taste.

Many have told us they have stacks of these printed out so they can be ready to analyze! It becomes a fun learning game when trying new beers.

Once you do the exercise once with this workbook, you'll be hooked!

These evaluation sheets will immediately get you thinking differently about beer and up your beer game!

WHICH BEERS WILL WE BE TASTING?"

We created a set menu for you. One thing that makes this training so effective is we’ll be drinking the same beers at the same time...

We choose beers for you that meet three main criteria:

  1. They are great tasting beers (duh)
  2. They are widely available, so it’s easy for most people to buy them
  3. They are diverse, so you really stretch your palate

So, here's what I selected for you to taste...

  • AMERICAN PALE ALE:  Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
  • HEFEWEISEN:  Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbeir
  • OATMEAL STOUT:  Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
  • BELGIAN DARK ALE:  Chimay Red

This Isn't About Discovering New Beer...

It's About Discovering Beer In A New Way!

Just Look at What Previous Graduates Have Said

quote-left

"I’ve been homebrewing for almost exactly 25 years, but despite that, I still feel that I’m not really in control of the recipes that I come up with.

The guided tastings, and the input from the many other course participants - all in real time - really improved my ability to discern (and therefore choose) different beer flavours and aromas; it has upped my homebrewing game considerably!"

Brian Feldman

Beer Tasting Graduate

quote-left

"I wanted to expand my palate in preparation for the Certified Cicerone test.

The course helped tremendously, the best part being the instant feedback/flavor descriptions from other participants who were tasting the exact same beers as me.

Since completing it my tasting skills and descriptive vocabulary are much better and continue to improve."

Cory Koch

Beer Tasting Graduate

quote-left

"Although I write professionally about beer (and am a Certified Beer Server and a provisional BJCP judge), I feel that my tasting abilities are my weak point. Billy didn’t disappoint.

Through our assignments and classes, I honestly improved my skills a lot, I learned so much and had so much fun that I hosted a blind ingredient tasting for my beer-savvy girlfriends using our class materials."

You Also Get These 6 Bonus Gifts!

Bonus #1: Confident Beer Taster Online Course

It's not enough to have a sharp palate.

To become a confident beer drinker, you need the knowledge that goes along with it.

That's why when you register for the live bootcamp, you also get access to our online course, which will allow you to deepen your beer knowledge and become a true expert.

You can watch these on your own schedule, as time permits.

Through our online course, you'll learn:

  • The 4 major beer regions of the world and what makes them unique
  • The main ingredients in beer and how each contributes to the final flavor in beer
  • Common off-flavors and how to spot them

Bonus #2: Tasting Challenges

1. The Palate Challenge

Think your tongue should only taste beer? Think again. You're going to get an absolutely killer exercise in training your taste.

From foods to drinks and fruits that each have a different profile, we've gamified the process of discerning all types of flavors.

2. The Line 'em Up Challenge

You’ll be amazed at how beers you thought were very similar are actually very different. This exercise will train you to pick up small nuances between beers of the same style.

This is not a blind tasting. You’re not picking a winner. Instead, you will move quickly back and forth between beers and compare every single attribute.

Bonus #3: How to Take Your Homebrew From Good to Great with Gordon Strong

Gordon Strong is arguably the top homebrewer in the world.

He is the only three-time winner of the National Homebrew Competition's coveted Ninkasi Award.

He's also the highest ranking beer judge in the BJCP and the only Grandmaster Level VII judge.

Gordon and I speak for almost an hour about how to take your homebrew from good to great.

As the world's top beer judge, no one knows what separates good homebrew from great homebrew quite like Gordon.

Here are some of the things you'll learn from Gordon:

  • The critical skill you must nail down before you can make big gains in your beer quality
  • "Why "balance" is such a misinterpreted term in homebrewing and the jazz band metaphor that explains how to get the balance right in your beer
  • Gordon's advice on tweaking your brewing water (this falls outside the mainstream)
  • What's the difference between a beer that scores a 40 in a competition versus one that scores a 48?
  • Gordon reveals the most common quality found in top-scoring homebrews

Bonus #4: Everything You Wanted to Know About Becoming a Beer Judge with Jeremy Short

Jeremy Short is a BJCP National ranked beer judge.

Jeremy and I actually went through the BJCP exam process together and in this talk, years later, we reflect back on that experience.

We talk about what worked and what didn't.

Here are some of the things you'll learn from Gordon:

  • The step-by-step timeline for becoming a BJCP judge
  • The first thing to do when you decide you want to become a judge
  • How to get a jump start on your BJCP training
  • The inner workings of a homebrew competition
  • 3 simple ways to put yourself ahead of the pack when entering beer competitions

Bonus #5: Train Your Senses Like a Professional Perfumer, with Joel Wilson

Perfumers are a kinda mysterious. Not many people know about them, but they have the best noses in the world.

In fact, Joel's nickname is "The Nose." And as you'll hear perfumer Joel Wilson say in this interview, there are people in his industry who can smell lavender oil and tell you what the weather was like the day the lavender was harvested.

Do you think he has some knowledge that could help beer drinkers train their senses? You're right.

Here are some of the things you'll learn from Joel:

  • The surprising truth about how your DNA affects your ability to pick up aromas
  • Joe's "Floating Room" metaphor that you can use to detect flavors within other flavors
  • Why Joel says you should never sniff your beer
  • The object inside your home that makes for an easy palate training tool

Bonus #6: Custom Craft Beer Review Templates

Think about all the places you talk about beer: Untappd to friends, in your personal journal, on blogs...

And while we give you tasting skills, sometimes you need a little help putting words on paper. These templates are the answer.

They don't tell you what flavors to say. That's up to your palate & where the training will really help

The templates give you formulas to follow so you communicate what you taste so that others understand you -- and may want to have what you're having.

Here's what you'll get:

  • Templates for quick reviews like on Untappd and Twitter
  • Templates for longer reviews like RateBeer or BeerAdvocate
  • Templates for more straightforward "just the facts" style reviews
  • Templates for elegant, mouthwatering reviews that bring the drinking experience to life
  • Even templates spoken reviews. If you want to describe a beer to your friend in a few words, this is what you say.

Remember, Here's What You're Getting...

  • Live Pass To The Confident Beer Taster Bootcamp
  • Lifetime Access To The Recording
  • Bonus 1: Confident Beer Taster Online Course
  • Bonus 2: Double Palate Tasting Challenge
  • Bonus 3: Gordon Strong's: How To Take Your Homebrewing To The Next Level
  • Bonus 4: Jeremy Short's How To Become A Beer Judge
  • Bonus 5:  Train Your Senses Like A Pro Perfumer with Joel Wilson

Billy B.

P.S. Would you pay $147 only if you were GUARANTEED to double or even triple your Confidence and Beer Tasting Skills?

Do you need yet another reason to attend this event?

Question #1: Are you a Homebrewer?

Have you ever brewed a beer, which cost $100 or more and 6 months to be ready...

Only to take a drink and see tastes like, well... crap?!

I don’t want you to go thought that because I have and it sucks!

This will help you prevent that because if you actually had a more developed and confident tasting palate, you could engineer that beer and be confident that it's going to turn out as good or better than you expect, saving both precious time and money in the process.

That’s the reason it’s only $147 and we’ve done it in a way that’s zero risk to you.

Not a homebrewer, but you love craft beer?

Question #2: how much are pints these days? $8-$10 or more?

For some bottles you're waiting in line for hours to spend $40-$50 bucks on new or special brews... wouldn't you like to get the most out of all the money you're spending on craft beer?

And if you're like me, you're constantly trying new breweries, traveling the world, meeting brewmasters and sampling their creations.

Wouldn't you like to build and amazing Beer Journal?

Instead of saying "Uh, this beer's super hoppy" you would actually have a detailed description that you can rely on confidently, share with your friends and refer back to for a long time. What's that worth to you?

Ultimately it's only $147 to become a confident beer taster, not to mention all the early bird bonuses I'm giving you access to.

Just click here to reserve your tickets...

P.P.S. Every time I do this Bootcamp I have hundreds of thrilled students who write to thank me for showing them how to discover amazing craft beer in a new way.

If you wear glasses you know how it felt the first time you put them on and all of the sudden the world looked different. You never noticed the leaves in the trees like you do now. And once you see clearly you can't imagine going back.

It's like that with your palate. Once you taste beer the way I'm going to show you, every glass, pint or stein is going to feel like the first time. (Yep, we're going to pop some cherries here I can't wait to see your reactions!)
